# Drug Description
## Brand Name:
Decancit SR with Cetirizine Hydrochloride & Pseudoephedrine Hydrochloride for Allergy & Congestion
## Generic Name:
Cetirizine Hydrochloride + Pseudoephedrine Hydrochloride
## About the Drug:
Decancit SR is a combination medicine that helps you feel better when allergies also cause a blocked nose. Cetirizine helps reduce allergy symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes, and itching, while pseudoephedrine helps open up the nasal passages and relieve sinus or nasal congestion. Because it works on both allergy and congestion symptoms, it can be a helpful option when a simple allergy medicine is not enough.
## Indications: When do you need this medication?
* Seasonal allergies (hay fever): Helps relieve sneezing, runny nose, itchy or watery eyes, and stuffy nose caused by pollen and other outdoor allergens.
* Allergic rhinitis with nasal congestion: Eases allergy symptoms while also reducing blocked or stuffy nose.
* Upper respiratory allergy-related congestion: May help when your nose feels blocked because of allergy-triggered swelling and mucus.
## Dosage and Administration: How to use the drug safely and effectively?
* Usual Dosage: For adults and children 12 years and older, the usual dose is 1 tablet every 12 hours. Do not take more than 2 tablets in 24 hours. This medicine is not usually recommended for children under 12 years.
* Method of Administration: Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or break it, because it is an extended-release tablet. You may take it with or without food. It is best to take it early in the day and again in the evening, and avoid taking it close to bedtime if it keeps you awake. Use only as directed by your doctor or pharmacist, and do not exceed the recommended dose.
